Youth Scholarships Available

Purpose

The Donna Hogan Memorial scholarship awards a scholarship to one high school Junior or Senior who is college-bound and demonstrates effort, perseverance, and commitment to making a difference in their school and bowling communities. This individual shows optimism, teamwork, and the ability to work through challenging situations while improving the communities they are involved in.

Criteria

The student eligible for this scholarship must be a Junior or Senior bowler in high school that resides in the state of Nebraska, has a GPA no less than 3.0, currently a high school bowler and plans to attend post-secondary schooling. Consideration will be given to the student’s community service record and academic achievement. Students should submit a scholarship application on the form provided by the Nebraska State Bowling Proprietors Association in partnership with the NEYBP.

Guidelines

This scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis and disbursed in one payment in August of each year.

Amount

This annual scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $1,000 annually.

To apply, please provide the following:

1. Current unofficial transcript.
2. A short written/typed essay of no less than 200 words explaining how you have demonstrated effort, perseverance, and commitment to making a difference in both your school and bowling community.
3. Two letters of recommendation from teachers, coaches, church, etc… (not family members).
